Suswani Mata Temple: Architectural drawings

By Ar Deepak Gahlowt and his team*

Built of Jaisalmer stone, the Suswani Mata Temple is a single shrine, originally consisting of a garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), antarala (antechamber), and a mandapa (closed hall) on plan. The temple is built on a high platform. Presently, barring the garbhagriha and partially the antarala, all other spaces have changed owing to the restoration work undertaken in the recent past. The mulaprasada (main shrine) is orthogonal on the plan, a pancharatha (consisting of five ratha or projections on each side) variety.
