Charchoma Shiva Temple: Architectural drawings

By Ar Deepak Gahlowt and his team*

Located in the Charchoma Maliya village in the Kota district of Rajasthan, the Shiva Temple is built on an elevated mound. The mulaprasada (main temple), known as the Charchoma Shiva Temple, comprises a garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), antarala (vestibule or antechamber) and a mandapa or pillared hall in plan. A boundary wall with iron railings demarcates the temple compound. There is also a kund (tank) next to the stairs leading to the elevated area. The architecture of the kund appears to be of a later period.
